Where did you find this cute fish?
It looks the same / similar to a few I saw swimming in a little rocky area at Malua Bay, in a little school of at least 5 or more.. with Bright orange eye & tail tip/ smal babies, I guess - maybe 2cm - 4cm - Feb 19, 2024.

Just checking if there is any progress on this sighting?

I think this is a Rock Cale Aplodactylus lophodun, as it appears to have a rounded nose compared to Kelpfish. Maybe just the angle of the photo

I think these might be the Small-scale Bullseye Pempheris compressa going by the fairly narrow pelvic fin andthe dark mark below the eyes.

We saw a small one at Shark Bay, Broulee yesterday - also near boulders
