Dianella spp. remain hard to confirm identification, because the professional botanists field work on them all remains far from complete.
So many various taxa (species, subspecies, varieties of a species)
have been overlooked as if all the same few species .

Hi Jase,

Thank you for the background. There are many genuses in this state of play I believe. I will do my best to give good photos. I’ll also try to find distinguishing features from appropriate sources although I admit that I’m often too lazy and rely on others with more expertise. It sometimes means I have to return for better photos or wait for plants to flower.

The Flora of Vic. online VicFlora , is not so far behind in its updates of Dianella information . So i check both.
Nothing better is available in the Flora of Au or elsewhere that i have found via KeyBase.

The botanists who work on Au Dianella spp. who i have talked with occasionally over the decades since 1989,
continually tell me there's a lot more work to do on Dianella spp. and a lot more spp. out in the field than have been clearly systematically (scientifically) described.
I have viewed many taxa out in the field from here in the Wet Tropics bioregion and Cape York through eastern Qld, NSW and Vic. to Melb. region where i grew up. I do not have clarity from other botanists about various of those many Dianella plants I have viewed in the field over 35 years, often repeatedly .

Nowadays phylogenetics adds more systematic evidences to these points.

Please let me know if you have awareness of any more updated information sources.

I suggest make more high quality photographs, than for usual Dianella plants sightings.
As these will have use as the currently not yet described Dianella taxa get worked on in the field and in the lab, eventually described and then we all learn them as well more clearly than we all do now .
