Possibly a Gyroporus sp suggested, as there is no discoloration showing in the areas where a critter has been nibbling. Numerous boletes show a colour change due to oxidation when cut or damaged. This would be a great herbarium specimen. Did you find more in the area?

As this sighting contains both a Tau Emerald and an Australian Emerald and it hasn't been split, listing it at genus.
