Hi Ian. Suggestion redone because this sighting was stuck in "Unidentified Fish". Now it is in Unidentified Moths. There are also more moths stuck in Unidentified Fish, so worth checking.

With these colours this Cortinarius would have, in the past been placed in Dermocybe. However now with all the molecular work being done this genus is now obsolete and has been absorbed back into Cortinarius. Nice looking specimen.

I would dearly love to help you on that one. However at the moment I'm absolutely snowed under and barely keeping up with my moderating, our horse spelling business, farm work and I'm also working on a book.............! I know I need to get a life and prioritise the important things:)
