Nope, not a Jacky Winter, which has white bars either side of a dark centre in the tail. Some hints about its size would help - thornbill size, yellow robin size, whistler size?

St Andrews Cross, they always hang like that with their legs in pairs, and have those white bits, called stabilimentum, in the web, purpose unknown I think. But I'll leave it to someone more familiar with spiders to get it to species for you.
