Very likely to be Fomitopsis lilacinogilva. The species was first named as Polyporus lilacinogilva, in 1839, based on a specimen collected in Tasmania. Since than it has been found in many parts of Australia. There are a few other superficially similar species of Fomitopsis, two of which are also found in Australia (Fomitopsis dochmia and Fomitopsis feei).
