Having read Volker Framenau and Cor Vink's 2001 revision of the genus Venatrix (Invertebrate Taxonomy 15, 927-970) I'm confident that this a Venatrix sp. It is most likely Venatrix mckayi, but the colouration on the abdomen is sufficiently different to the published drawings and the images I have taken of this species at our home site that I've decided to leave it as a Venatrix sp. at this stage.
In the last couple of weeks I've found several spiders with an identical colouration on the dorsal cephalothorax and abdomen on our property in Wonboyn. I've been able to positively identify it as Venatrix australiensis based on the colouration of the ventral side of the abdomen as well as the shape of the epigyne.
