Good thought on the zoomed image. The Bega Little Corella population seems to be booming. You have to wonder where all the other hollow nesting creatures are living these days!
I was surprised by the number I saw. Based on my images, including some not shown, there were 18 of them. They were in trees to the west of Kiss Lagoon, would fly SE over the shore before turning, flying over the lagoon, and landing back in the same trees. They did this a number of times.
18? You're kidding. There's a good thousand hanging around Bega I reckon. You should be round the lagoons at roosting time. They're causing quite a bit of damage to trees. Seem to be cropping up in other towns too. I've seen them in Cobargo, and there's heaps in Moruya.
I was there in the middle of the day. I'll have to try be there later in the day to see the numbers. Have an afternoon/evening booking in Bega Wednesday week.
