Sparrow hawk? It was a little far out over the lake for me to get a great photo, but I'm hoping it's recognisable.

Hi Jules, This looks like a pretty big bird, and the tail looks rounded rather than square to me, so I've gone with brown goshawk. The sparrowhawk is conspicuously smaller.
