Oops. It looks as if the bulk upload of var. composita, from near Pambula Beach, definitely so because of the ‘seeds’, from CNM to ALCW missed out on var. composita. Both subspecies occur on the far south coast. They cannot be told apart without macro photos of the ‘seeds’. https://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/eee293fd-4618-437e-9b00-570e18d705db
I'm happy to skip the var business. I couldn't see anything on PlantNet about how to distinguish the vars. The records on ALA seem like a bit of a dog's dinner. I've only ever seen it round Pambula to The Pinnacles, but there are records from Merimbula and Eden, and no detail re location or habitat. Pity. Seems to like sandy soil, dampish conditions and popping up after fire.
The ‘seeds’ in var. composita have a lot more ornamentation. http://atlasoflife.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Details/41457 Don took photos of both subspecies on the same day at The Pinnacles and Pambula Beach. The specimens were confirmed by the Canberra herbarium.
