This plant seems to vary a lot in height from year to year. When Don took it a couple of yesrs ago at Pambula Beach, it was very lanky, and head height.

Interesting. I was surprised at the number of plants across a large area

Hi Dean, Yeah, this plant is pretty common round Pambula, but strangely absent from the rest of the region. Seems to like sandy soils and a bit of extra moisture, and also pops up after fire. The only other place I've seen it is KNP after the 2003 fires, in totally different, subalpine woodland habitat. It's an oddity!

We have also seen it twice at the top of the cliffs (Pinnacles?) in Ben Boyd national park north of Eden. The second time it was also in the carpark for the Pinnacles. It had come up profusely after a fire.

Hi Betty, Yeah now that you mention it I've seen it down there too. Still fairly close to Pambula.
