12 birds in one group. Sorry for the low quality as they were quite far. We were on holiday from Canberra and have no experience in shore birds ID. We tried out best guess :)
Thank you, Charles. My other guesses were Red Knot and Great Knot from the field guide. The reason I did not choose knot was because the birds seemed to have longer beak than knots. However, tattlers seem to be on the rock and shore more than in the water and body seem to be longer in proportion than the birds I saw. Bird ID on the coast is hard for me but it was a good challenge.
yes not very common down this way although you do see the odd one know and then sometimes where the ferry crosses over to Comerong Island on rocks. Just a quick look at your pic, you could have one Great Knot amongst them but would need a better look at the photo.
