Hi Patricia, Yep, definitely juvenile plumage, and I think, based on our CSIRO field guide illustrations of juvenile plumage, that they are common, not brush, as you suggest. Common brushwing juvs look to have more pale feathers on the forehead than brush.
According to the CSIRO book, the juvs of both have very similar white lines round the eye. It's a very useful book that way - most field guides don't have such good illustration of juvenile plumage, if any.
