That's topical, I just saw the first one of these for many years at Brogo recently, also in a wet area next to a creek. It is a weed, so I would pull it out, but I don't think it is seriously invasive (could be wrong though). If any of the flower heads look advanced enough to develop viable seed after you pull it, I would cut them off, take them away and burn them or otherwise dispose of them safely.
