I put these up again as it appears I didn't seem to get the photos up on my post. Is this an orchid? or is it a fern - the tendrils remind me of a hairs foot fern.

Hi Libby, Well spotted. Most people assume it's an epiphytic orchid. You just have the sterile fronds there. In a better established patch of it there'll be fertile fronds too, which are long and tongue-shaped with masses of brown spores on the back. It forms big mats on rocks and tree trunks and branches.
