Following DPI article gives description of Scylla serrata and states that the southern limit of this species is Bega River. https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/375892/Giant-Mud-Crab.pdf

Local fisherman reports having caught muddies years ago. But he is a fisherman with no evidence!
