Hi Matt, I don't suppose you noticed if there was any juvenile, bipinnate foliage on any of the plants? That would help confirm my hunch of A. rubida, although the phyllodes don't have the reddish margin present on all my photos of that species. But the pronounced mucro (hooked tip) on the phyllode does fit that species and doesn't fit obtusata, which has none. Also obtusata is supposed to have a kink at the gland on the phyllode margin and your thing doesn't have that. I know rubida would be flowering in August, not sure about obtusata flowering time.
I believe Costermans has obtusata flowering now. I did consider rubida, but I couldn't see the red stems. Image 4 has a reddish hue to the branch. Unfortunately I couldn't see and juvenile foliage.
I think the red stems are not a reliable feature in rubida. Most of my photos of it have the same colour stem as in your photo, but the phyllode margin is reddish. Unless anyone else has any thoughts on this one we might have to leave it unresolved.
