Looks to be an adult male, as it has strong orange colouration on the throat and a relatively large nuchal crest.

My pleasure Fiona. There are a few other gender differences between sexually mature water dragons I thought I'd mention since you're interested. Fully mature males are invariably bigger than females and have a relatively bigger, blockier head with stronger jowels and a black chest and belly.
