Great pictures of the Greater Glider on an immensely sad occasion. Did the Glider survive?
GLemann wrote:

Yes. Currently with WIRES but doing well. Also had a pouch young which is alive too.

If the bush is wrecked then it can be released in my unburnt patch - that is if our place escapes fire over the next few months.

Our place is also a possible release site for animals struggling after the fires (also provided the bush survives)

GG can survive post fire but most of the population dies from starvation. I have survey data on arboreal mammals from Meroo and Murramarang and it would be appropriate to resurvey these sites. However, given the lack of funding I can not see this happening. A real shame as the populations around Jervis bay and Conjola NP appear to have declined signficantly.

As there has been viral interest expressed on our Facebook page - 35,000 views, 380 shares - we should set up a GoFundMe campaign to support a survey. (I'll email you Gary)

Dear George, Thanks for you help doing the GG surveys in Murramarang NP. I would also like permission to use this image in a scientific article on the species.

cheers
