Obviously it's a spider with its egg sac, but not much hope of an ID unless you can get round the other side of it and get some photos showing more detail of the actual spider, from the top down, side-on, whatever is possible. Assuming it is still there. If you do get more photos you can edit this sighting to add them (edit button in the top right corner of the page), rather than making them a new sighting. And just for future reference, spiders fall under terrestrial invertebrates, not insects, in the ALCW groups. Insects have 6 legs, spiders have 8, which is the most obvious feature to distinguish them.

Thanks Jackie. I have 2 other photos but I wasn't able to master the edit button to post them. I'll try again another time. I'll endeavour to remember terrestrial invertebrates for the future.

OK, if the edit button won't work for you, you could try deleting this sighting (though that also requires the edit button!) and sticking up a new sighting with this and the other photos in it.

Yes, a spider egg sac, also a dead spider and a dead insect, apparently a stink bug. The dead spider is unrecognisable, but the egg sac looks like Araneidae, perhaps one of the non-orbweaving members of the family.

On seeing this again, I'm thinking it could be Redback spider. Was it in a dry location? (Redbacks don't seem to like moist places.)
