Two monitors can be seen in this dead Angophora sunning themselves on large branches (one at lower right, other at upper left). I have identified four individuals on our block by facial markings. Apart from during the breeding season this is the first time I have seen two of the goannas in one tree at the same time. As it is now well past breeding season, and as I understand this species is not monogamous, the sighting indicates striking overlap of home territories and surprising tolerance between adult animals.
