Great shot. Looks like it's in the middle of plucking its prey. Could you tell what the prey species was? Looks like a coot or a larger waterbird.

I'd be guessing it's a swamphen as the legs look a bit long for a coot.

Hi Jackie and Steph, I note that the location of the sighting has been recorded as Angledale NSW. The coordinates that we included do NOT correspond with coordinates of the location, Angledale. Upon review, I searched the meta data from the photos. These coordinates are -36.865987 S 149.929688E and correspond with the 5th green on the Tura Beach Golf Course and are more accurate than the ones I submitted.

OK, I've edited the sighting to the golf course by manually sticking the pin in the map there. No idea where the fifth green is but at least it's now in the right general area. You can do this yourself Carine, by clicking on edit up the top of the page, if you notice some detail that is wrong about a sighting of yours.
