This nasty little plant has proliferated in brushfire burnt coastal scrub land. It has fine but very sharp spikes on the stem, and on the top and bottom all the leaves I have attached a photo of a flower and a fruit which looks like a small melon the size of a P or grape. I would welcome any identification and suggestions as to how to deal with it. Thanks
No need whatever to deal with it, as it is a common local native. Many Solanum species proliferate after fire and are usually short-lived. This one could be pungetium or prinophyllum, but the latter has glossier leaves, so I've gone with pungetium.
