A 'jewelled' basically cream coloured fungus. 4 cms long, 3 cms wide and approx. 2 cms deep. The beads of liquid, which were various degrees of amber, were not sticky and the fungus was spongy in texture. It was found at the base of a river peppermint gum and was in close proximity to an ants nest. Ants were noted to frequently wander over it but I didn't see any engage with the beads of liquid. The last photo, without the liquid, was taken the following day. Pam, was wondering if this is a Bleeding Tooth Fungus.
Wow, that's very cute. If you transfer your records to iNaturalist, as well as joining the ALCW project to proceed pretty much as before with your local sightings, you can also join the Fungimap project, which might improve the odds of getting an ID for your fungi photos. Records from the ALCW catchment area will go into that project automatically, but you have to add each individual sighting to the Fungimap project yourself.
