Quite right, and a big plant too. Looks like it has been missed in the 2-3 times a year beach weeds sweeps which are done mainly for sea spurge, but which should also target this weed. I'll see if I can get the information to the person who runs them. Unless you feel like going back with a shovel? But one that size could be quite hard to get out.
Good on you. If you remove any it is usually enough to bag the seed/flowers, not the whole plant. with the beach daisy turning it upside down and suspending it above the sand on top of other veg should kill it. If you handle sea spurge you'll need to be very careful of the sap which is highly corrosive and can temporarily blind you if you get it in your eyes. A digging tool of some sort can be handy as often sand builds up around these weeds and they can be rooted deeper than you'd think.
Hi again, I've had a response from James the beach weeding guy, who says they left a couple of big plants for next time on their last sweep as they didn't have a shovel on them. So if you don't get it, they will, eventually.
