User's notes

These Spotted Browns were found away from the garden at the edge of the forest at Dr George Mountain. They showed no interest in the Buddleia that was in flower at the time.

I'm surprised we don't get more sightings of this species, as I see the larval food plant is the extremely common grass Microlaena stipoides (weeping grass).

I'm also surprised and disappointed these butterflies are not found on our property at Black Range, where the most common grass is Microlaena. It covers most of the lawn in our garden area.
