Looks like a Philotheca or Crowea but not one from the area I am familiar with. Can I make out fused stamens? Are there oil glands on the leaves?

I agree with 'Plants" I have both Crowea saligna (not from your area) and C exalata subsp. exalata in my garden, but your leaves approach Crowea exalata subsp. magnifolia (which I have never seen). Thank you. These are growing on a road reserve, close to remnant bush (literally across the road from burnt area), and quite a bit away from the nearest house. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to take measurements at this stage, but will do so at the first opportunity. Thanks for the information and your time - we learn so much from being part of this project.

Leaves are 30-40mm long and about 5mm wide. There is about 10 cm between each leaf. Does this help in identification?
