Female has short supercilium; Loral stripe broadens under eye

So these photos are all of a female then, with the eye surrounded by grey feathers (white underneath in male). I'd have thought the presence of a red cap was the feature to sex them on, but apparently it is of variable intensity in both sexes (I've been consulting the same field guide as you).
