I'm not very good at counting bats. 500 is an estimate. They seemed much more spread out this year.

Wow, you really aren't very good at estimating numbers - I'm told the count from last Friday was around 43,000! Yep, they are occupying a lot more trees around the lagoon than usual, due to the large numbers present, which is presumably a result of a lot of the forest being burnt further north, so this is the only area with much food for them.

THanks Jackie - only sat at the picnic table on the houses side with family so couldn't wander off and do any proper counting!
