I'm not sure if this is an ant or something else. it had a red head, black / white striping in the middle and black rear end.

I think the white striping is just light reflecting off their shiny exoskeleton. Couldn't find any white stripes on any or our photos of this species, but the red head and long legs are very distinctive.

Thanks Jackie. It could be. There was a torrent of rain the night before and everything was wet. Still a first for me.
