..and a shy photographer it seems...just enough info in this one shot to confirm the sp.? when they drop (thanatosis) it is usually pretty hard to find them again but in this case was it simply skulking in the foliage? Top, side and front are ideal angles and if lucky, a ventral (underneath) shot would be good too. Nice beetle, well done!
Sorry Harrisi. It was spitting rain and the driver wanted me back in the vehicle! I thought it was a different insect until I looked at the pics later on. I got more excited over the spiders at that site!
