User's notes

Found dead inside the house after it had been closed up for 10 days. Must have come in last visit and unfortunately died unable to get back outside to feed.

It's one of the Australian long eared bats, there are 2 possible species that live around the south coast , they both look very similar and I can't distinguish which from the photo.

Thanks. Unfortunately the bat disappeared after i moved it outside (definitely did not come back to life) must have been scavenged by a bird or rat. Otherwise i would have asked if there was more info i could have supplied to help determine the species.

If you ever find another one, a picture of the face front on so we can see the nose and top of the nose clearly would help determine the species. Kind of like a mug shot
