This is on a solanum so not Lamprolina. Possibly Psylliodes

Psylliodes isn’t available to suggest

@lbradleyKV Hi, I don't think this is the correct species, however for reference, if the species isn't in the list, click on the Can't find it button and you cant hen choose from the whole Global species list, (unless it isn't included).

I was leaving it with leaf beetle family - not trying for genus. Do you agree it’s a leaf beetle?

Still needs a confirmation please.

Hey Alison - I know I keep bugging you about this one, but is it possible to give it a family if not a genus? It is a leaf beetle, right? Cheers, Lisa

@lbradleyKV Sorry Lisa, I'm not sure about that either. I agree with leaf beetle but I couldn't be more exact than that. I know it's annoying but I myself, have nearly 300 unconfirmed sightings, some of which I know what they are but I'm not a Moderator for them. It's likely that most will never be confirmed.

Hi Alison - thanks for that. Part of the joy of NatureMapr for me is figuring out what things are. It’s great with plants because the moderators are very patient with me. 😊
I’ve started things other than plants a while back and I’ve been reaching out to experts (I realise some can find that annoying but most are very happy to help out). I’m happy to stop at family - I figure that is more valuable if it happens to land somewhere like ALA (my sightings probably don’t). 😊 For example, michaelb gave me a spider wasp at family level. And an expert at a museum has identified one of my beetles - it will be a first find on SCNM but I won’t confirm it (I have privileges) unless a beetles moderator confirms it. It’s with MM and will probably remain unconfirmed. At least I tried. Cheers

@lbradleyKV Lisa, I understand your frustrtion but I always confirm, or suggest anything that I am confident about. If if don't comment or confirm a sighting that's because I am not confident to do so. My knowledge is only what I've learned through life experience and NatureMapr.

I agree that we do not confirm unless we are confident. I just don’t know when you have considered it and decided to leave it as unidentified. If I knew that, then I could know when to consult others. I guess I just have to assume that after a couple of weeks it’s still unidentified, then I might want to chase it? Would you be willing to just write a comment that says unsure of identification or something? Maybe this has been discussed by the NatureMapr leaders and it’s been decided not worth the time and effort? I think especially for newbies it’s nice to get some feedback?
I really do appreciate your time and effort as a moderator. I wish I knew more. 😊
