User's notes

Nearly six weeks after I first noticed this pair show interest in the hollow, they continue to visit. However, the behaviour of Dotty, the female, has changed. Now, rather than silently begging to be allofed, she is vocal, calling as breeding females call for feeding. On this occasion, I observed her being fed by her mate at least 6 times. She then flew down to the hollow, backed into it and I could hear some excavation reverberating from its depths. After about 10 minutes, the pair flew off to their usual roosting site. I am hopeful that as they continue to visit the hollow, that Dotty's behaviour is looking more promising in terms of nesting behaviour. Time will tell . . . watch this space
