@MB : Any chance of a lateral view showing the prolegs so we can maybe whether it is in Geometridae or Erebidae ? I hope you have it in protective custody for rearing to get an adult moth so that we can determine the species.

Maori Octopus to my eye. Dark Rust colouration and it appears to have diagnostic finger like papillae on mantle. But hard to be 100% certain.
