Sorry, but the photos are not good enough to say. It's a rat, but it could be either the native Rattus fuscipes, bush rat or the introduced black rat (Rattus rattus). The bush rat has the tail about the same length as the body and the black rat has a longer tail than the body, but there is not a lot in it.
