What diameter was the flower? Comesperma defoliatum has wing 'petals' 2-3 mm long, giving a total flower diameter of about 4-7 mm. Comesperma spaerocarpum has wing 'petals' about 6 mm long, giving a total flower diameter of about 9-14 mm.

I think the prostrate habit makes it sphaerocarpum, with defoliatum being erect.
