I have also seen this species near the shores on Bondi Lagoon in Bournda NP but don't know what it is.

Solanum prinophyllum is a similar native (both have purple flowers) but prinophyllum has a glossy leaf surface and tends to only appear after disturbance, whereas pungetium is scattered around the place all the time.
