Hi Jules, You need a lot more detail than this for a fungus ID. A shot of the underside to show the gills/pores and also the base of the stem so one can see if it is emerging out of a sort of sac (Amanita species), and if possible fruiting bodies at different stages of development, since the cap shape frequently changes with age, is the minimum you can get away with, and even then it can be very difficult to ID fungi from photos!
Thank you Jackie.. advice taken on board :) I am rather a newbie at using photographs as an attempt to ID and will be sure to offer a greater selection of photos, I will look back at the images of this one and see if I have something that may assist. Cheers, Jules.
