User's notes

Sorry, this was the only other image I took of this little 'fella'. I do remember it was on it's own, with no other similar fungii in close surrounds, it was in open grassy area and approximately 3 to 4 inches high. A sheen to it that reminded me of 18ct gold with a paler stem. I will attempt a better series of photographs next time it spawns if I am still at this location :) Cheers Jules

You take such lovely shots of fungi but if possible would you to take more shots of the different aspects of these organisms such as the gills, stems, how they are attached to the substrate, what they are growing on or in, perhaps gather several of the same species together to show the different stages of development as they age. There are so many different points required to ID fungi and doing this from just one image is almost impossible.

Thank you Teresa! I adore taking macro shots of all manner of plants.. this little guy was all alone in a lawn of grass. It caught my eye as it was very much a 'golden' fungi, the colouring was like 18ct gold, with a touch of a shimmer.. I will look back and see what other angles I have of this guy/girl/spore-producing organism ;-)
