They remind me of paspalum seeds too and are about that size but they look like images of Katydid eggs I saw on the internet. A landholder brought in this specimen from Furner's Rd Bemboka.
I can confirm that these are katydid eggs and I can confidently name the species that laid them - Torbia perficita, Giant Torbia. In the latest issue of Victorian Entomologist, Linda Rogan shows photos of the adult of this species as well as the eggs laid by it. They are identical to the images in this sighting.
On reflection, I think I was a bit overenthusiastic in going to the species level with this one. As a developmental biologist I should have known better! So I've changed this to subfamily Phaneropterinae (Bush Katydids).
