Hi Ross, from the amount of black on the head and the colour of the belly, I'd say this is a golden, not a rufous whistler, but the colour isn't great in the photo. Were you convinced of rufous at the time?

I agree with golden whistler. The second photo threw me a little because the belly look reddish. However, going back to the original photo and playing with contrast and brightness, the belly is more golden. It was the only of the species I saw and was unfortunately in the shade with a brighter background.
