This looks like an Amanita species with the remnants of pyramidal warts on the cap. Was it's colour grey or white? There are a few Amanitas with pyramidal warts, this one could possibly be an aged specimen of Amanita pyramidifera with the warts wearing away. The stem looks fairly typical from what I can see - this species doen't have a ring and it should have a bulbous base
