Unfortunately Lisa they both appeared a bit dehydrated, the rainfall in this area has been very poor over the last few months; towns only a few kms away have been getting so much more than here

The cap, when viewed with hand lens, was thick velvety in appearance and the stipe deeply striate with dense mycelium at base - very confusing.

Probably a Tubaria. Not sure of species. The view of the underside shows the partial veil remnant very nicely and one that has an appearance similar to that in this sighting: https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4387129.
