Now a look at it a little more looks like Rattus rattus as the ears and large and lacks roman nose.

Maybe because Rattus rattus it is an exotic species. Lots of species are not on the list. I have suggested that the list be amended by looking at the Atlas of Living Australia then local government then select Shoalhaven then mammals etc. The bird list would be Ok as you have compiled that but the other groups need work.

Hi guys, Rattus rattus is in there, as an introduced rodent, a separate category from native rats, along with my very nice ID photos. But as you need to see the relative length of tail and body, that still doesn't help us with this sighting. The very big ears certainly do suggest Rattus rattus, but I'm not sure enough to confirm it.
