This is a Red-eye cicada 'Psaltoda moerens' (sometimes mistakenly called a Black Prince) but in the same genus 'Psaltoda'. Note the red eyes and the thicker darker lines that are present along the wing margins of the smaller hind wings below the larger fore wings.
Very Interesting they did seem to be in large numbers of which I thought to be unusual for the "Black Prince" so will go back over a couple of other maybe Black Princes to check their ID
