A very unusual colour. If this was scanned from a slide, it apoears that the reds have faded completely. I am assuming the leaves in the photo belong to the flower.

Taken with Garmin GPS camera at same time as other nearby sightings. It was 7 years ago so I don't recall the exact colour.

In the coastal heath it is always D. stricta, which does tend towards sky blue, not purple, though the colour on this shot is a bit extreme.
