Def not a Wolf spider (family Lycosidae), looks more like a male Megadolomedes australianus, or Giant Water spider (from family Pisuaridae)..

Nice pun, Stuart! I got lucky with this one as I had made a sighting of the same species here in Wonboyn a couple of years ago. It took a deal of work at the time to puzzle it out. The family is in the “Little-known” section of Whyte and Anderson.
