User's notes

This is possibly a spined predatory shield bug Oechalia schellenbergii. The photo has both the nymph stage & an adult. There were swarms of the nymphs on a native Scolopia braunii commonly known as Flintwood.

Not Oechalia. Looks the same as an unidentified pentatomid at http://www.bowerbird.org.au/observations/112286.
