Yes Maggie, it's definitely a Scarlet Percher! A brilliant male. Good to have the second photo as it confirms the identity, distinguishing it from the similar Wandering Percher (Diplacodes bipunctata) in having: 1) no dark markings on the abdomen, and 2) an extensive area of yellow across the base of the hindwing. (D. bipunctata has just a yellow spot)
